Editor’s Note: While EVE’s next journey is still shrouded in mystery, this post is our own "Airborne Squad" wishlist—a speculation on how Stellar Blade 2 could evolve the themes we love. Everything below is based on our passion for JRPG tropes and the 'Zero to Hero' journey we hope to see.


The Neon Descent: Starting from Zero

The air in the 8D City doesn't smell like the salt of the Wasteland; it tastes of ozone, wet concrete, and the lingering static of a thousand dead monitors. We’ve all been there—the endgame EVE, a god-like force draped in the finest Nano-Elements
. But as the rain slicks her hair and the neon signs flicker above a new, vertical nightmare, her blade is chipped and her shield is flickering. To truly appreciate the "Hero," we have to remember the "Zero." The thrill of Stellar Blade 2 should be that first desperate encounter in a dark alley where a single parry is the difference between life and a "Game Over" screen.


The Tactical Tailor: Fashion as Progression

In most games, armor is a stat. In Stellar Blade, it’s a statement. Finding your first "spicy" upgrade in the ruins isn't just about survival; it’s about reclaiming your identity. This is the 2:00 AM loop: the hunt for materials and the satisfaction of the "Crafting Complete" screen. Whether it's the sleek grace of the Shiva-Line or the toxic, status-inflicting chaos of Marlboro’s Malice, these suits are the ultimate reward for the survivor who refused to stay down.


The Penance Protocol: The Archangel Superboss

We play for the loot, but we stay for the Archangel. Inspired by the high-tech divinity of legendary JRPG superbosses like Final Fantasy X’s Penance, this boss isn't just a monster—it’s a mirror. Clad in the ivory-and-gold plating of the Colony’s elite, the Archangel is the ultimate test. Defeating it proves that EVE’s strength doesn't come from her divine origin, but from the dirt, the neon, and the struggle of the climb.

Skins

Skins I have searched the internet and browsed several videos on the topic of skins for devices like your mobile phone, Nintendo Switch and the Steam Deck. These skins look impressive and offer a truly customized look that just isn't available from the original manufacturer. As a kid and young teen I remember the Play it Loud marketing that Nintendo ran during the 90s. Both the Gameboy and Nintendo 64 hardware was available in a few different colors. N64 controllers were available in these colors allowing for mix and match and match experience. Nintendo continuing it's efforts to offer colors for hardware and controllers into the GameCube and 3DS generation but sadly didn't do so with the Nintendo Switch. Fortunately the plethora of options available from designers like dbrand more than makes up for this. Anything from solid colors to artistic designs and patterns are available.
